Standard five regarding professional practice surrounds the context that the teacher needs to assess, provide feedback and report on student learning. I believe I have done this during my practical placement at North Lakes State College as I took proactive measures to assist with marking student’s art and music assignments. I also gave my students feedback about their artworks and musical performance ideas.
It is extremely important to be able to interpret data, especially for year 11 and 12 students. I understand that I am responsible for student’s academic data results which can affect possible opportunities for students who may need to change their mark to improve exit results.
Through teacher practices, I will persist to justly mark students assessments consistently, comparably, provide constructive and timely feedback, assess student learning through summative and formative approaches and effectively report on student achievements. This teacher practice is very important for the classrooms environment as students need to be marked fairly and justly.
